Telangana Telugu and coastal Andhra Telugu are not the same meeting language — Hyderabad Telugu carries Urdu vocabulary that a coastal speaker would never use.
Telugu is heavily agglutinative: suffixes stack onto a stem so that what English needs a clause for, Telugu says in one long word. That makes word-boundary decisions the hard part of transcription, and it means a transcript with the wrong break points reads as nonsense rather than as a small error. The Telugu script is a rounded abugida with a large inventory of vowel signs and consonant conjuncts, and it distinguishes aspirated and unaspirated consonants that English does not.
The regional split is genuinely consequential. Telangana Telugu, shaped by centuries of Hyderabad's Urdu-speaking administration, uses vocabulary and turns of phrase that a speaker from Vijayawada or Visakhapatnam simply does not use, and Rayalaseema adds a third variety with its own vowels. Meetings in Hyderabad therefore often contain Telugu, English and Urdu-derived words in one sentence, and the Urdu-derived words are not felt as foreign by the speaker — they are ordinary Telugu to anyone raised in the city. A transcript that tries to correct them into coastal usage is not tidying the record, it is changing it.
Then there is the tech corridor. HITEC City meetings are among the most consistently code-switched in India: product, sprint and commercial vocabulary in English wrapped in Telugu grammar, with Hindi appearing whenever someone from outside the state is in the room.
